For the arm chair traveller:

There's a laugh on every page of this parody travel guide. It's very well done and the level of jokes only flags a bit here and there. It's a fun funny book and you can buy it for $5.

With this book Mr. Horowitz has conjured up one of the best travel essay books ever written in my humble opinion. The subtitle tells you all you need to know, it's a fascinating account of his journeys in the footsteps of the great seafarer Captain Cook. Horowitz alternates chapters between his account of what modern times have done to the places cook lived in and sailed to and the history of Cook in those far flung destinations. You'll gain a whole new appreciation for what Captain Cook did in his eventful life after reading this well written highly entertaining book. Snap this one up for $10.
